Welcome!

Since I posted about this on classmates, I figured that I needed to get a message up.

Details about our 25 year reunion will be appearing shortly. In the meantime, if you find your way here you can reply to this post and say hi. I'm going to be adding some things to this blog over the next couple of weeks, so stop back by!

Hi to everyone! It's hard to believe we've been out for 25 years! Amazing! I've talked to a few classmates and we're anxious to get together with all of our class. Thanks, Jane, for starting this site.

Correction above: should have said we have been out for nearly 25 years.

Has anybody toured the school since it has undergone its changes? The outside sure doesn't look anything like it did when we were there. A guy who had gone to Highland took a picture of the mural before it was destroyed and had it put on to a wallpaper of sorts. I understand it is back up on the wall. It's good that they left something of us there. Maybe we could get a group of us together and go through the school.

I just had a fun thought...My son is a freshman at IUPUI. I was wondering if anyone from our class has a son or a daughter going there, as well. Wouldn't it be interesting if they knew each other?

Hollywood air kisses to all from Los Angeles. Stacey (Summitt) Buck has been kind enough to send me current photos of Anderson, IN, and I hardly recognize the place anymore. A reunion after all these years should be uh, interesting. :) Just kidding -- it should be a blast.

25 years...how time flies. I seldomly go to Anderson since my brother moved to PoncaCity, Oklahoma. I pretty much stay close to home in Indy. Teresa Patterson (Byrd)

Profiles, people, profiles:

Nothing is more annoying than to go to that Classmates.com site and see someone you want to know about, then you click their name but there's no profile posted. Not one lousy detail about them.

I was more than generous in my profile. You not only learn that I live in L.A.'s Chinatown with my same-sex partner, but also that I'm a Republican, that I might have gotten up to a little mischief during my 1998 trip (ahem) to Amsterdam, and that one of my cats is named after a particularly attractive former quarterback of Notre Dame. Hell, I even admit that I'm a lawyer. Why, the revelations fairly leap off the page.

It's time that others (and that's nearly all of you) are similarly forthcoming. Some of the stuff that Classmates.com asks is pretty lame, though, so I will be helpful and suggest some topics that you might want to address in your bio:

-- Do you work for a living, or do you watch "Oprah"?

-- Have you ever served time? (If not, feel free to dish on any of our classmates who have. There must be someone that we could have voted "Most Likely to Be Served with a Restaining Order.")

-- Paper or plastic?

-- Travel: Are you a member of the Mile High Club?

-- Is there someone you used to have a crush on in high school, and you still carry a little torch for that person? If the circumstances were right (he/she appears at your door bearing flowers and wine, looking as he/she did 25 years ago, and your current significant other would never find out), would you still have one night of hot monkey love with your old crush? If you answered yes to the first two questions, who is the other person?

-- Have you ever met anyone famous? Have you ever had sexual relations with "that woman, Miss Lewinsky"? In that same vein, is there any doubt in your mind as to the meaning of the word "is"?

-- If you could utterly banish any of the following from all media platforms so that they were never heard from again, who would it be: Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Tom Cruise, Rosie O'Donnell, Barbara Walters, or Donald Trump? (Feel free to suggest others.)

-- What was the greatest fashion horror of our youth: bell-bottom jeans, feathered hair, leg warmers, leisure suits, or those eyeglasses that were so huge that girls used to stick their initials on the lenses?

-- Who would you absolutely love to run into at reunion? Who do you absolutely not want to see there?

-- Have you ever been watching a TV news report about obesity, and when they show those headless people waddling around on the street, you realize that one of them is you?

Just a few suggestions, but I hope the meaning is clear: We need plenty of gossip and juicy tidbits. Let's hear from you. (Or as they would say in West Hollywood, "Spill, Mary.")

Later on --

Yes, Linda I'm here. I am looking forward to the reunion next year. It really is hard to believe it has been 25 years. My children find it rather amusing. My oldest son has all kinds of comments about what was it like when you were in school and everyone was in the same class room, you had no electricity...I think you get the point. I gently reminded him that he himself would one day have children and I hope they give him the same tormented pleasure he has given me.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am so very grateful to my dearest and closest friends who helped me get through my dad's illness around this time late last year and the first four months of this year. It was a stressful and difficult ordeal, but with the help of your prayers, soothing words, support, and shoulers to cry on, I was able to be stronger than ever for him, my mom, and my sister. I am happy to announce that my dad has regained his strength and is living every day to its fullest. It is wonderful to see him back to normal. Thank you again for everything!

Hey Mike,
Yes, we all work at my house. I work with the Special Ed. team at an Indy Elementary School and home schooling my youngest. (He will be 17 next week-Luke.) The eldest son,Jacob, will be 20 on Saturday. My husband works in homicide. Living a very "tame life." As to paper or plastic, plastic makes great trash bags in boy rooms. I noticed Bridgette hasn't been here either.
Take Care,
Teresa

My eldest son drop-kicked me into 2008 on January 2 by announcing, while moving out, he will be a father in August. Yes, I have reached "Grandmotherdom." Our first grandbaby! It's hard to believe.
